A Republic Services commissioner apologized Tuesday to county commissioners for last week's troubled start of the condensed's new trash collecting responsibilities.

"Please give us a chance (and) don't judge us on the last week or week and a half," said Note Clatt, area president for the state of Florida.

Clatt assured the table Republic has a handle on the missed collections and said residents should not meet with future delays or bill problems.

"You are on the right track now. But make no erratum: You've got some makeup work to do," Commissioner Dave Russell said.

"We vow to do better," Clatt replied.

Clatt said the company has added additional manpower and furnishings to pick up all trash. In some cases, drivers are handing people notification letters of Chiefly delivery days.

Republic also has added more phone lines to area residents' inquiries.

The company also has activated a website to help fulfil customers' questions and concerns. Any resident in the non-mandatory area who chooses not to walk off residential waste collection service can go to www.hernandogarbage.com .
