This outflow of Weird Al impersonation was prompted by the announcements, on the same day, that former UNC system president Erskine Bowles wouldn’t run for governor and former Lodge Speaker Joe Hackney wouldn’t seek another term in the Dynasty.

Bowles’ decision wasn’t so shocking. Maybe Hackney’s wasn’t either.
