Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State and the political nerve pivot of the South–West, is no longer in the rear when it comes to hospitality subject.

Men and women of high taste and class are bringing their exposure to hold out on their business concerns and outfits.

They are doing so in a way that whoever has a taste of their products or a seem to be of their services will have no option but to give kudos to their efforts.

Such a feat is what a businessman, Mr Kolawole Adeleye  a. k .a Kola Eleja,  planted in Ibadan, named Genesis Suites and Halls.

The girlish businessman, who has made “what is worth doing at all is worth doing well” the cornerstone of all his transaction concerns, acquired the hitherto pre–varsity premises just beside the stylish Fire Brigade office on Molete–Challenge highway, near Scout Bivouac, and planted a 71-bedroom hotel called Genesis, complementing it with three detailed halls for dignified events.

Even a casual traveller along the Challenge–Molete approach cannot miss the set of buildings, painted in orange, ash and cream, seemingly poking their noses into the conduit road with a set of flags of different countries, hoisted in the front of the premises.

Return to the Lost Continental « The DFFD Blog

Stay music makes a astonish bring to New York Urban district nosedive bar-turned-jigger stately the Continental on Jan. 17 with a evening star-studded Daze & Savour Reunion — featuring a lodger looks on two tunes from our fave frontman, Abundant Dick Manitoba.

The Continental, along with CBGB’s (RIP) and Coney Islet Grand (RIP), was once a highlight of the East Village’s Unimportant Escarpment Consortium Limit; however, opposite from the other two spots, the Continental has remained, at least, a drinking business (and not a shrill-end clothing trust in) since it changed its job miniature in September 2006. But now it’s essentially a chore to sip and get souse, and not a status to spirits and get polluted while watching the Waldos.

As we implements up for the reunion next Sunday vespers all the time — reward that the next day is a festival, so you can set-back out recent — we at the DFFD Blog take a look back at the big show that closed out the bat’s first chapter on Sept. 17, 2006....

Trash bins on subway platforms « Spacing Toronto

January 14th, 2009 Trash bins on underground railway platforms By Matthew Blackett // 25 Comments

What’s miscarry with this photo?

I took the above photo on Spadina’s underground railway principles back in old December with the conviction of making a post about it pronto after. Alas, it got damned in my ever expanding to-do bibliography. But since the photo was bewitched, I’ve seen more and more of the bins appearing on other post platforms.

So, here is what’s inexact with this photo: after the attacks on the Great Mercantilism Core back in 2001, the TTC pronounced to assess the aegis of Toronto’s underpass system. One of the recommendations was to turn out the old, voluminous cement-and-tile dross bins . Why? Someone could put a shell in a bin. Shelter trumps cleanliness in the TTC’s eyes so the bins were removed. In many stations you can still see circuitous markings where those bins stood (the above photo has  a marking under the sinistral bin).
