FROM Pike REPORTS MILLVILLE —Local autism support group Puzzle Serenity Moms announced meeting dates for 2012, held at the Mt. Agreeable Church social hall on 29 Pearl St. in Millville.
The Tidings covered last year’s opening meeting, where parents were masterful to meet and discuss raising a son or daughter who is living with autism.
“We are a support association for parents raising an autistic child,” said Barbara Russick, father of the group, whose daughter Alyssa, 14, suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome. “We all get together and thrash out the different issues we face and the successes we share with having a boy with autism.”
The children are welcome to attend, and enjoy a supervised craft while the adults talk.
The name of the sort is derived from the Autism Awareness puzzle piece logo, with a name spelling changed to “non-belligerent,” which they hope to offer parents and children.
