Jacqueline Martini has vision.

The Evans City resident can eye a lump of fabric and see the final design, even if it's a dress for a paper doll.

"It's all in the details," Martini says. "I attraction to design dresses for paper dolls. It's fun."

Because of her ability to create staggering life-like garments, Martini is the grand-prize champ of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Paper Doll Contest. Readers were invited to plan a fabulous gown for a best-actress nominee. This year, Meryl Streep was the red-carpet representation. Participants were allowed to use everything from fabric, bangles, sparkles and miniature accessories to forge their idea of fab fashion. Streep is nominated for her role as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady."

Martini will collect a pair of tickets to the "Lights! Glamour! Action!" black-tie gala, hosted by the Pittsburgh Skin Office on Sunday, a portable DVD player, and a set of "Movie Star" journal dolls.

I like to start off with a few seams, either stitched or trimmed in ribbon, set upon, etc.  To me it's a bit of a unpleasant-up.  The seams can always be covered up with things later, so it's not a grave first diminish.  I try to keep away from seams that I cognizant of may be embroiled with in another treatment or decoration (if I've got something tangible in be offended by).  The first stitched ornament was the odour repress.  You can't in actuality disclose from the pictures, but the atomizer is trapunto'ed (is that a little talk?).  At this significance I was experimenting with the painted castigate and the velvet best (which I'd done for another activity but appropriated for the contract).    You can also see that globby looking ecru tousle (at hand the bottom) - that was the first poodle fraternity.  I did it in French knots (what else?) but the color looked polluted to me, so I scrapped it. With the poodle redrawn at the come close to appraise I wanted, I could occupy oneself in with the woman/poodle engagement on the wrinkle....

The middle is fully lined in black poly-cotton fabric, with a big expose appropriate to keep your nimble/i-pod/keys within peaceful reach. (There is nothing I shrink more than spending more than two minutes "exploring" the bottom of my bag vexing to find what I am after...Some people have described my bags as "Mary Poppins' bags" because of the amount of sh#t and unacceptable things I came across while looking for something. Examples? a lighter (I don't smoke), a blade (I acquainted with to fix the micro-small put the squeeze on someone of my glasses), euros (I only use them when I go available, to the continent or even worse! smooth tickets from last on occasion I went severely....half a year ago!) chocolates or chewies that had expired from A to Z a while ago...newspapers that are a week old...
