What's control superiors than an icy cold brew on a warm spring day? An icy brew that before tonight, you had to move to Jersey to get.
Cricket Hill Brewery will be making its New York City appear at 7 p.m. at the Double Windsor . Bartender Chris Genoa said the brewery approached the bar, which boasts one of the most commodious lists of craft beers in the area, about hosting the launch.
"There haven't been that many new breweries get going in New York recently, but when they do, we try to get them in here as soon as possible," he said.
Of the ten beers produced by the brewery, seven will be on tap. Pints will be $5, and the brewmaster will be on ovation for the occasion. Here's the lowdown, according to the menu:
Cricket Hill Hopnotic IPA : An steady drinking English-style IPA, with light hop flavors of pine and citrus along with caramel malt.
Cricket Hill Brewmaster's Hold back Russian Imperial Stout : A big, flavorful Imperial Stout, with flavors of roasted malt, withdraw chocolate, vanilla, a little smoke, espresso and caramel.
