A Small Farms man arrested inside a steel company has been charged with burglary and nicking.
Tommie Lee, 55, of 2439 Jennings St., was loading sheet metal into the back of a red Ford pickup junk Tuesday at Centennial Steel, 2600 E. 5th Ave., the probable cause affidavit states.
The conceal manager told Sgt. Brian Farrow he saw a man stealing items from in prison the property and called police. Patrolmen Richard McClelland, Ryan Cain and Jamaal Joseph located the red communication and Lee near a hole that had been cut in the fence, court records state.
Lee was released from guardhouse in 2009 after serving time on convictions for carrying a handgun without a entitle and drug possession.
Man admits shooting woman in legs
A Gary man pleaded repentant to battery in a shooting that wounded a woman in the legs.
Eddie Jerrod Hogan, 30, admitted he fired a .40-caliber piece during an argument and shot Crystal Lewis in the legs, wounding her in the Nautical port thigh and inner right thigh. The shooting occurred Feb. 9 at the charwoman’s home in the Glen Park section of Gary.
