Camira Fabrics, the UK-based fabricator of environmentally sensitive fabrics, has set up a state-of-the-art dyehouse in collaboration with Holmfirth Dyers, its mate for textile dyeing and finishing.

The two textile firms have together invested £2 million to set up Parking-lot Valley Dyers in Lockwood, the first such dyehouse to be built in the UK in the last two decades.

According to Camira, the new dyehouse has been set up extraordinarily for the firm’s Holdsworth-branded transport fabrics.

Camera said the new put provides flexibility of dye batches from a single 2 kg yarn cone to up to 2 tons, while maintaining uniform colour and quality.

The new dyehouse, which has a capacity to handle 50 tons of solid a week, has already delivered first batch of fabrics. It has resulted in creation of five vocation opportunities and more jobs are expected as production increases.
