Devotion Pillows are a great way to remind your young people of the importance of entreaty. One of the most important things we can teach our children is that God’s help and gladden is always only a prayer away.
To make Prayer Pillows you need: Bibles, Bible concordances, waxen or light colored fabric, 3-by-5-inch cards, pencils, needles, ease, scissors, cotton stuffing, measuring tape, sew in zipper kits, smocks, crayons, colored fabric pens or colored invariable markers.
Begin your class with a Bible study. Ask your students to use their Bibles and concordances to search out Bible passages regarding prayer. Allow time for each daughter to share his or her findings and let each student pick out which Bible verse they need to use to decorate their pillow.
Discuss how important prayer was to Jesus and how He often Heraldry sinister the crowds to spend time in prayer. We all need to follow his definitive example. Jesus also taught his disciples a prayer, which we still use in our churches today. It is known as The Peer’s Prayer, and it is found in Matthew 6:9-13. Ask your young people to boon to the Lord’s Prayer and choose volunteers to each read a verse until the whole passage has been read. If time allows, review each verse and thrash out its meaning.
