Homeowners have seen several coyotes roaming through the Indian Springs parade, near 161st East Avenue and 131st Street.
Coyotes are simple throughout Oklahoma and often encroach on suburban areas, including south Tulsa itself.
"Some coyotes may be in a cultivation pattern this time of year and perhaps are more active at different times of day than normal," said Michael Bergin, associate editor-in-chief of Outdoor Oklahoma and a spokesman for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Maintenance.
Officials occasionally will trap coyotes in the area, but there's little else they can do, Bergin said.
A few plain precautions, however, will discourage coyotes from approaching homes.
"If there's not a tempting rationality to be in your yard, they will likely avoid it," he said.
"Otherwise, you can often safely enjoy watching coyotes from a stiffness with binoculars.
