Wrap up the wintertime in a quilt.
Piecemakers by the Bay Quilt Guild will pat their biennial quilt event over the weekend.
This year's theme is "Our Coastal Belle" and will feature a quilt designed by Jan Svatek and worked on by members of the Guild. The quilt took 10 months to mention.
The quilt will be a raffle item and six tickets can be purchased for $5.
Proceeds from the raffle will be addicted back to the community. There also will be a community service booth at the event to donate to distinct organizations like quilts for heroes, which is for troops in Iraq, nursing homes, and quilts for kids, which is for children in infant protective services.
"The quilt show has done very well," Svatek, Bay Quilt Guild member, said. "Whatever cabbage we make we give it back to the community. We make quilts for fun and to benefit the community."
Judges will consider 100 quilts created by Guild members and local scope residents.
Vendors will be at the event selling quilt related items, such as quilt tables, fabrics, patterns and kits. Door prizes will be prone out every hour, and vendors and local merchants donate the prizes.
