The “Rhinestone Cowboy” singer, who announced last year that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Infirmity, said he would be retiring from music after embarking on a goodbye tour that took him through Europe and North America.
The express offers an inside look at how Campbell, 75, performs on originate each night, despite his battle against the disease that affects more than 10 million Americans.
“You can’t cry over spilled drain,” Campbell tells Fox News of his diagnosis. “[You] get on with your soul and enjoy it.”
Over the course of his career, Campbell sold 40 million records and won four Grammys in both native land and pop music. Last Sunday, the Grammys hosted a special tribute to Campbell, with The Orchestra Perry and Blake Shelton taking the stage to perform his songs “Kindly on My Mind,” “Southern Nights” and “Rhinestone Cowboy.
