Through her slender glasses, Lilly Westbrook’s gaze stays focused, trained on the needle that stitches angry beading to cream-colored cloth. To the 49-year-old stock of clothing veteran, it’s all about “piecing the puzzle together.”

For the last 22 years, Westbrook has worked at Ithaca College as the vestment shop manager in the Department of Theatre Arts.
