From the face, Walter Bostic’s home at North Topsail Seashore may look similar to other large beach houses on the island.
But on the inside a status-of-the-art system of concrete and foam will provide him with a safe and nearly maintenance release home for many years to come.
And he is eager for the day he can enjoy his completed ICF Reward Obstruction System geothermal home with his family and friends.
Born in Duplin County, Bostic is a hang out visitor to the Topsail area, even though he’s lived all over the country and now resides in Greensboro.
When he had the time to purchase a parcel of land on Ashe Island in North Topsail Beach 12 years ago he had visions of erection a large permanent home on the land and some day retiring there. In the meantime he built a mignonne guest house on the property as a temporary home-away-from accommodation.
His research began when he decided he wanted to build a large valid home that would withstand hurricane force winds, tornadoes, be verve efficient and low maintenance. He researched 10 years before deciding which method would be the healthy one and who would be the right contractor to build it to suit his wants and needs.
