We moved my dad into an assisted living apartment last week. It’s active to be a cogent consider for him. He is tried, will get advantageous meals, has his meds regulated and has friends there that he has known for decades. Dad embraced the move with candid joy and thankfulness, and already seems more settled and at unbelligerent than he has been in weeks.
But in statute to get him there, my kin John and I had to move dad from the dynasty in which he has lived for more 45 years—and that was a principal criticize. Forty-five years in one firm means there’s a lot of piffle tucked in lots of nooks and crannies. (OK, there was a monster amount of tommy-rot in every separate crack and fissure!)
You see, my mom and dad were children of the Economic decline, part of that genesis that doesn’t forgo anything away because ‘I might penury that someday”. They were also interested in outmoded collectibles such as epitome cars, tea pots, canes, teddy bears, whisk brooms, corkscrews, etc....
