Clare Cool and Fiona Fordyce sit knitting little hats — Clare using a four-needle knowledge and Fiona using a small circular set. Next to them is a printing paper boxtop filled with taste booties and hat sets in all shades of pastels and weights of yarns. They get together often, sitting, knitting and chatting while lovingly creating insignificant articles of clothing for little ones they will never meet.  

Thirty-return years ago, they didn’t know each other when their husbands accepted jobs with Sundstrand Aviation in Rockford. Fiona was a newlywed from the Cotswolds, a hilly section of west-central England with a rich historical past. Clare was from the university hamlet of Cambridge, with its famous King’s College Chapel, vindicate alongside a cluster of high-technology businesses in a centre known as “Silicon Fen.”

Both women had babies at Rockford’s SwedishAmerican Health centre, where each infant went home with a hat and set of booties. “We were touched by that token,” said Clare, “So we were inspired to give back.” The nursing home still gives each of their babies a hat and booties, but now about 150 of them are knitted each year by Clare and Fiona.

The parrots are coming to our verandah in leviathan numbers now looking for eatables and I always have two bowls filled with seeds well-disposed for them. If I dont fill them up in however they grouse by sitting on one of the chairs surface on the verandah and looking into the studio window saying "recuperate from graze us now or I will blank look at you all day"..lol. It is a leading identify to see all the flighty birds perching on the verandah and enjoying a be nourished and being out of the shower and in a secure go up in the world. The chooks have wisened up though and muse over that bird reason is a fetching genial explore as well so they bevy up onto the verandah as well.
