After losing the first neighbourhood 9-6, Susquehanna Township girls
basketball head school Julie Denniston decided that adjustments
needed to be made in her Indians' adventurous enough plan.
Denniston pushed all of the right buttons as her team outscored
Cedar Precipice 18-6 in the second quarter on their way to a 53-31
victory over the Colts in a Mid-Penn Crux Division
matchup.
"I had not scouted (Cedar Cliff) in a live feign yet," Denniston
said, "I didn't have (Cedar Cliff) on tape so I told (my band) make
all of the adjustments after seeing what (Cedar Cliff) did
well."
The two main adjustments by the Indians were an bourgeon in
pressure defensively and rebounding.
The Colts (5-5, 1-4 Mid-Penn Crux) held a distinct height
advantage and used it early by attacking the drinking-glass for offensive
rebounds to get easy baskets.
The full-court press installed by Denniston was speared by older
guard Jasmine Yanich as the Indians forced 15 Cedar Scarp turnovers
in the second and third quarters combined. Susquehanna Township got
points from five weird players in the second period as the
Indians upped the tempo off the steals phony, leading to many easy
baskets in transition.
