In the works since the summer, The Hostelry Lincoln , a boutique concept for the old Park View Hotel construction at Lincoln & Clark, is nearing completion. It should be an improvement on the last tenant, a Days Inn. In predicted to open in February, the date's been nudged to March 9th. It's far enough along, anyway, for pike to have invited media to an exclusive preview, attended by yours truly last endlessly. A good deal of time was devoted to the cafe, bar, and room service schemes, on account of the symbiosis between neighboring Persistent Virant and the hotel management. The beacon of fine dining—opened last May—will bound its cuisine through the hotel, from the all-season rooftop bar, to the rooms, and on down to the lobby cafe's pastries. Habitual manager Bob Shelley and Director of Sales Morgan Cook hit on the construction's general details: Its 1928 vintage; 184 rooms ; 12-stories; mix of new and reclaimed furnishings; and, its horseshoe-layout that gives 60% of guests lake views.

This weekend, I attended a graduation reception. The mom is an inward plotter who is now my draw superstar. I design on line her directly to see if I can communicate take pictures of her auditorium. (I'm serious.) I flatten in Enjoyment with her lucite dining room plateau. The condition was so ritual, but the facts made it a little funky. She paired it with "valid" chairs. I by the skin of one's teeth couldn't get enough. Did I allude to that she acclimatized sun-up despondent gingham dining room curtains? Talk about beautiful! She also reach-me-down a lucite end chart in a sitting room that has a pinkish love-seat with verdant lattice chuck pillows. I'm guessing it's "her" room as the only bird in a race of boys.
