In 2010, when BMW unqualified to stop the production of second generation M6, many wondered how long the German car maker will take to boat the next gen M6. The question was answered today. BMW has unveiled their all new 3rd gen M6 two door in coupe and cabriolet put up.
Unlike the 2nd gen M6, which was powered by a 5.0L V10 generating 500 bhp and 520 Nm torque, this one is powered by the same S63 bi-turbo motor which also powers the new BMW M5, X5 M and X6 M. 2013 BMW M6 3rd gen's 4.4L V8 generates a maximum power of 560 bhp and a superlative torque of 681 Nm.
New BMW M6 coupe accelerates from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in nothing but 4.2 seconds while the cabriolet will take 4.3 seconds for same. As of now, transmission is entranced care by a dual clutch seven speed gearbox, but reports mention that a six speed manual is also under consideration. Compared to the 2nd gen M6, the new 3rd gen M6 consumes 30% less nuclear fuel and generates 10% more power. 2013 M6 coupe will be available in showrooms from June 2012, while cabriolet will get to later this year.
