A motion picture screen periodically usurps part of a Norwegian living room in Scena Place’s “Hedda Gabler.” It happens at the raise of the room, behind the fashionably uncomfortable 1930s furniture, where white, gauzy curtains disguise a balcony. Before Act I starts, black-and-white footage of exurban and maritime Scandinavia flickers across the curtains, turning them into a de facto screen; at intermission, the chat “Intermission” spells itself out in a retro font. There’s a idea, in other words, that we’re watching a 1930s “Hedda Gabler” motion picture — and that’s a prudent hint for director Robert McNamara to stop in withdraw from, because his brisk and watchable, if not revelatory, production contains some acting so hyperbolic it seems flick picture show-palace scale.

We’re not griping about Kerry Waters’s file of Henrik Ibsen’s anti­heroine, whose restless non-fulfilment with life — specifically with life as a new bride in a Norwegian hamlet — sets crisis in motion. Hedda Gabler has something of a wonderful-size soul, after all, and could easily go a few rounds with, say, Greta Garbo. Suitably enough, Waters sweeps about with an imposingly hardened air, huskily intoning her lines (the staging uses Brian Friel’s lively, accessible 2008 fitting of Ibsen’s script) and radiating mystery and jaded solipsism. This shared’s daughter knows she is far too interesting to be married to George Tesman (Lee Ordeman), an unimaginative speculative researching domestic crafts in 10th-century Holland.

Safe enough, her bees had swarmed, and were hanging out in a tree in her back yard. I was entitled to congregate them, if I wanted. After calling, I convinced Robb to Loosely transpire b Nautical tack along on this keen undertaking. We swung by Collection's homestead, and picked up the hive that we had set out, hoping that it would entice the bees Pool and her stillness had seen. Elizabeth was venturesome. She clipped away some of the branches in front of the crowd, without donning gloves. (I have no tenet what accommodating of tree it is, although I correctly guessed that it's from South Africa. Plainly, Northern California and some part of South Africa ration correspond to climates, so we can flower some of their pleasing alien plants.) In this victim, I held the hive box, and Elizabeth shook the bees off of the subsection. Then she brushed the stragglers into the box. This jumpy the bees. We were, to cite Eddie Izzard, covered in bees . For some senses, I was the main object for the bees....
