Question: I'm tired of the blinds in the curtains. The curtains are tied back in time with as tiebacks. The window, which is a double window facing east. The curtains are on a cross shaft and can open and close. I welcome your comments or suggestions.

Answer: If you do not call privacy blinds get rid of, if not just follow them during the day and lower them at dusk.
Under the curtains I would put a single panel, double the width of the window to get a satisfactory fullness.
