Homeowner, son take gun from would-be thief
Harry Lee Hill, 51, of 443 Butterfly Private road, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering, damage to real attribute, assault by pointing a gun and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after showing up at the habitation of 38-year-old Jeremy Gober on Curtis Drive at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Gober said Hill approached the quarter and smashed a living-room window. Glass fell on Gober's 4-year-old granddaughter, who was within the home, though she was not injured, he said.
Gober, unaware that Hill had a .45-caliber shooting-iron in hand, went to the front door to confront him. After opening the door, Gober said Hill mucronated the gun at him, and he quickly knocked Hill off the porch. Gober rushed Hill and tried to struggle the gun out of his hand. Gober managed to pin Hill's arms behind his back while keeping both of his hands on the gun to supervision the weapon. At that point, he called his 17-year-old son, Justin, to advise.
Gober, still holding Hill, said Justin repeatedly hit Hill in the flair and face while telling him to drop the gun. Hill was hit more than 30 times before he released the weapon. Gober and his son were not charged in the episode.
