STYLE : 1743 colonial

Proprietor : Marc and Marjorie Cantara

HISTORY : The original house was built by Lt. Robert Brooks, a British Army long-serving, and dates to 1743. A slightly newer house about a mile away was brought to the spot and merged with the older structure to become one L-shaped home. The Cantaras bought it about 16 years ago, and have worked to reconstruct it to an authentic period appearance.

WHAT MAKES IT STAND OUT : From the outside, the sheer measure assess, classic shape and historically accurate colors; inside, rooms have been restored to a patch look with incredible attention to detail, including intricate woodwork around doors and fireplaces. Rooms are painted in rosy colors, and feature Marjorie Cantara's stencils and murals. The caboose's cooking fireplace has been restored beautifully. A fireplace in one of the bedrooms is decorated with tiles from the Netherlands.
