Programmable TOTP token in a key fob form-factor

22-01-2019

TOKEN2 introduces C300 - first NFC programmable OATH TOTP token in keyfob form-factor.

TOKEN2 is selling programmable hardware tokens in credit card format for already a few years now. Token2 miniOTP cards are marketed as a hardware alternative to Google Authenticator or other OATH-compliant software tokens. Having the same functionality extended to tokens in classic keyfob/dongle format was one of the features our customers asked for.

We are hereby announcing our new product, TOKEN2 C300 TOTP hardware token, which is possible to be reseeded for an unlimited number of times via NFC using a special «burner» app.

While tokens in credit card format are easy to carry in a wallet, devices in key fob form-factor fit comfortably on a key ring in any pocket or purse. So far, there was no product on the market in this form factor that was possible to be programmed without the need of buying specialized and expensive burner devices. With our new product, a device with a standard NFC chip is enough — you can use any regular Android phone with NFC. You are not bound to Android only, in addition, we will also be releasing a Windows 10 application. The only additional requirement, in this case, will be having an NFC module on the machine (some laptops have NFC as an option). If your machine does not have an NFC module, you can purchase a USB NFC Reader.
